Home at last, after a big day of rolling up data points & periodic outbursts of erratic behavior.

Work was as big as it gets & today wasn't a culmination, it was more like finding myself in a trench, with arms & uniform - surprisingly ready to "do the right thing".

Hmmm, that reminds me of Gillian Welch. Don't know much about her, but I quite like this set of lyrics:

Darling remember
from when you come to me
that I’m the pretender,
I’m not what I’m supposed to be
but who could know, lf I’m a traitor?
times the revelator, revelator.

The idea is, you can't really tell - even yourself - if what you are committed to do is the right thing - only time will tell. The same is true for people who don't share your beliefs. This notion, if true, would explain time's clumsy ballet, not to mention uniforms and data points.

I'm sitting under opening roses & babies breath, listening to Brad Meldau's new album, playing across the table on Jason's computer. There's a richness to this time that's pretty overwhelming.
I'm ready to try the pressure cooker. I think.

Onward!!

Totally swamped am I.

I manage about 8 people - two are moving under a different co-worker, once I give her the info she needs to make the transition. Two belong to editorial, but work with me. Three are my directs outright, but I'm learning about what they do & that's going a bit slow.

In addition to trying to be available to 8, 9+ people, I'm working on a new programming plan - which I've come to discover, that folks have been working on already. So I'm kinda sorta accumulating information that will inform the plan. If you're envisioning needles in haystacks, you're getting there.

These tasks have consumed my head & are now in a bit of a tangle. My boss has let me know that he wants to help with the untangling & so we've got a plan for this week. I hope it works.

Additionally, few new pics, because I got spyware on the computer I use at home to load images to the site. I did toss what I have into the original gallery I created, here:

I'm reading I, Claudius - the Robert Graves novel - Just got Heart of Darkness as prep for reading Chinua Achebe's rebuttal work - There's more in the library - books topped my list of gifts from the holiday season.

Oh! and we got a pressure cooker, crockpot & books on how to ease on up to a vegetarian existance. It's good, but if you lived with me you'd only see the work concerns. I mean, I am obsessed!!

More to come...
