Ch-ch-ch-changes...

So, Blogger is not going to support posting to a website from their program. I've got about a month to decide how to transition "It's Under the Surface". Maybe I'll keep using blogger, maybe I'll move to typepad or similar.

I'll be sure to let you all know.

besos!

Raspberries in January

Got into the garden today - pulled out old canes and hammered in some of the fallen bits of the fence that contain all of the raspberry canes. Felt good to be out, even in the rain.

Chicken and Green Olive Enchiladas, catching up

So, the chicken is brined and I'm about to leap up and put the recipe together. It's from a competitive site - couldn't find it's equivalent on delish.com - so I'll just say it's a mole recipe with loads of chili powder and green olives. I've substituted queso fresco for the monterey jack in the recipe as is.

We had a lovely visit last week, a friend I've known for almost 20 years came into town. It felt like the old days, or feels like old days, one. It's nice to enjoy folks over long periods of time, that's for sure.

My show is up at Dandelion, went up in Dec. I'm working on smaller pieces to send to a list of folks from the summer. They are coming along nicely. It's good to be making art again.

It's warm, less rainy than usual. I am ready for the faux-spring that tricks us all in late Feb. Pretty pretty Seattle...

Wishes...

I thought I'd spend the day making art. Had planned for it, just needed to spend an hour or two working before I headed down. Pretty quickly, hours passed and the work I was doing kept expanding, becoming more complex each time I thought I had figured it out.

I slogged on, day passed, and I finally finished tonight. I'm glad to work, glad to have figured it out and finally, glad that I saw that my work was put to use almost immediately.

But that day in the studio is gone.

So, I'm at home, in the home studio - trying to grab at the last hour of evening to sketch, organize and prep for a week of evenings of art-making.

My show is on the 12th - I'm looking forward to it.
